Yep. More Makeup!
I love getting all dressed up for holiday parties! It’s the perfect time to play with makeup. It’s easier to try new or more bold looks because a)your’re indoors (where light is forgiving) and b)you’re cold (so nothing will melt off) and c)For the most part nothing is too dramatic for the eyes. It is also the one time of the year that I really play up my fair complexion and go for a more “dewy” look for my foundation. I have dry skin, so to keep it from looking so dull in the winter months I will wear a more luminous or dewy foundation and very little powder. Just enough to set it. I love highlighters and frosty shades this time of year, it just makes me think Christmas lights and snow
Though I didn’t get to see the show last night, I always love getting new ideas from the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. They are always so festive and sexy! Here are a couple of looks from this year and a previous show:
For the most part, it’s lots of shimmer and warm pearl shades. Perfect time to whip out a NYX jumbo eye pencil as a base. A few that would work for these VSFS looks: Iced Mocha, Cottage Cheese, Milk, Dark Brown. http://www.cherryculture.com/cosmetics/makeup/nyx-cosmetics/nyx-jumbo-eye-pencil/16196&cat=0&page=1

VSFS 2008 eyes
The look above from 2008, I am actually considering doing a picture tutorial of. For the basic “classic” Victoria’s Secret Angel look, I’ll let Makeupbytiffanyd show you that-
(Keep in mind you can duplicate this look with other products besides MAC. Just play with it and customize it!)
Next up are my favorite smokey/smoky celebrity looks. I really want to try this look that I am seeing everyone doing. I think it’s perfect for a christmas party or dinner.

EASY tutorial for a Kristen Stewart look from Pixiwoo:

Angelina Jolie Classic Cat Eye Look
Last is Angelina’s Typical Cat Eye look. If I had to guess, I’d say the winged out portion is actually a shadow packed onto the liner for a softer look.
I’ll leave you with some links to products that you can easily duplicate these looks with and things that I have been dying to try.
Urban Decay Naked Palette(though good luck finding it in stock right now) Retails for $44, but is not that steep of a price when you think about it. You get 12 very hard to duplicate eyeshadow, a double ended 24/7 liner of black and brown(VERY nice quality eyeliner), and a deluxe sample size of the Urban Decay Primer Potion.-AMAZING stuff. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P267200
Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette $35. You get 9 shadows (matte and shimmer shades) and a double ended eyeshadow brush. Not as much of a bargain IMHO, but still VERY pretty shades and would still probably the worth it if you are a neutral eye fan. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P241303&categoryId=B70
The next two are from Coastal Scents. Both are the 88 palettes. You get 88 eyeshadows in one palette. For under $25. If you ask me, these are the next best thing. You can duplicate almost any shadow and any look out there. The colors are very pigmented, nice payoff, and for the most part or not that chalky. They don’t have the silky consistency of say the Naked Palette or some MAC shadows, but they still have a very nice finish. Two of the CS palettes that would work for these smoky holiday looks are 88 Warm(which I just ordered WOOHOO) and the 88 Metal Mania. Both are GORGEOUS and well worth it. The site even has them in a combo set that goes for just under $45. Heck of a deal!!

Happy Holidays!!
